Visibility and Permissions

Who can see and join new channels, and which permissions they inherit.

Where to find this?

Open the Dashboard, select your server, pick the correct Creator Channel and navigate to the Basics Tab.

SettingDescription
Default VisibilityPublic: everyone can see and join. Locked: everyone sees the channel but can't join. Hidden: nobody but the owner and members who were let in can see it. Applies to @everyone, not to Access Roles.
Permission SyncFrom category: new channels copy the permissions of the category. From generator: they copy the permissions of the Creator Channel. Don't sync: they start with Horizon's own permissions only.
Inherit @everyone restrictionsKeeps the @everyone denies of the sync source instead of granting view and connect. Only available with Permission Sync on.

Owners can still change the visibility of their own channel with /lock, /unlock, /hide and /show, and a saved profile can bring back the state of an earlier channel.

Hiding channels until members verify

If your server only shows channels to a verified role, see Using a verification system?. It explains both setups and what each of these settings does to the permissions.
