Greeting

A message Horizon sends into every new temporary channel, with placeholders and an optional ping.

The greeting is a message Horizon posts into a temporary channel's chat right after the channel was created. Use it for house rules, the limits owners can set, or commands that aren't on the panel.

Where to find this?

Open the Dashboard, pick your server, open Generators and choose the generator. This is the Greeting section of its page.

Turning it on and off

Write a message to turn the greeting on. Leave the field empty to turn it off. The message can be up to 1000 characters long.

Channel Panel

The Channel Panel switch in the same section posts the Horizon Panel into every new temporary channel, so owners don't have to use commands.

If the panel and a greeting are both set, they are sent as one message, with your text above the panel.

Placeholders

Click next to the field to insert a placeholder at the cursor. Horizon fills them in when it sends the message.

PlaceholderBecomes
{OWNER_MENTION}A mention of the channel owner
{OWNER_NICK}The owner's display name on your server
{OWNER_USERNAME}The owner's Discord username
{OWNER_ID}The owner's user ID
{CHANNEL}A link to the new channel
{CHANNEL_NAME}The new channel's name
{USER_LIMIT}The channel's current user limit, or ∞ if there is none
{MIN_USER_LIMIT}The lowest user limit owners can set (0 if you set none)
{MAX_USER_LIMIT}The highest user limit owners can set (99 if you set none)
{MAX_BITRATE}The highest bitrate owners can set in kbps (your server's maximum if you set none)

The limit placeholders follow what you configured in Size and audio.

Pings

The bell next to the field decides whether mentions in the greeting notify anyone.

  • Bell off (default): the message is sent silently. Mentions are shown, but nobody gets a notification.
  • Bell on: user and role mentions notify as usual. @everyone and @here never ping, even if they are in the text.

Example

Your channel is ready, {OWNER_NICK}.
You can set the user limit anywhere from {MIN_USER_LIMIT} to {MAX_USER_LIMIT}.
Locked channels: use /knock to ask the owner to let you in.

The greeting is copied along when you duplicate, export or import a generator.
