Logging
The member log in the channel chat, and the moderation log for everything that happens in temporary channels.
Where to find this?
Open the Dashboard, pick your server, open Generators and choose the generator. This is the Logging section of its page.
Member Log
Posts a short line into the temporary channel's own chat whenever something happens to its members. Everyone in the channel can see at a glance who came, who left and who owns the channel now.
Turn Member Log on, then pick which events are posted. At least one event stays on while the member log is enabled.
| Event | Posted when | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Joined | Someone joins the channel | Alex (alex.dev) 123456789012345678 |
| Left | Someone leaves the channel | Alex (alex.dev) 123456789012345678 |
| Claimed | Someone takes over the channel with /claim or the panel | Sam (sam_) 234567890123456789 claimed the channel (previously: Alex (alex.dev) 123456789012345678) |
| Transferred | The owner hands the channel to someone else with /transfer or the panel | Alex (alex.dev) 123456789012345678 transferred ownership to Sam (sam_) 234567890123456789 |
Each line starts with a small icon for its event and shows the display name, the username and the user ID, so you can tell people apart even if they share a name. Nobody gets pinged.
Note
Horizon needs Send Messages in the temporary channel to post the log. If it can't send there, the line is skipped.
The member log is only a quick overview for the people in the channel. For a permanent record that admins can check later, use the moderation log below.
Moderation Log
The moderation log records all significant actions in temporary channels created by this generator. Each event is posted as a formatted message to a channel or webhook of your choice.
What gets logged
Setup
You can send logs to a text channel or a Discord webhook. The box above the switch shows where logs go right now, with Remove to stop logging.
Pick Channel to let Horizon create a webhook in a channel of your choice. Once the webhook is set up, the mode switches to Webhook on its own. This is expected.
Pick Webhook and paste your own URL to use an existing webhook.
Saved right away
Set and save applies the target immediately. It isn't part of the unsaved-changes bar at the bottom of the page.
Note
If the webhook becomes invalid, Horizon removes it automatically to avoid errors.
